Nose: Raisins, dried apricot, overripe plum, along with notes of honey, vanilla, and caramelized red apple. There’s a floral scent delicately blended in this rich, dried fruit aroma. A splash of water unveils toffee, green apple, and hints of marzipan in the background.
Palate: Silky and full-bodied. At 54% ABV, it’s surprisingly smooth even without water. That caramel note carries on to the palate. I get more honey, orange chocolate, some banana creaminess, and black pepper. With water, I also taste licorice and freshly-made Bavarian plum cake.
Finish: A long finish with wonderful developments. It’s sweet initially, then somewhat peppery, and finally bittersweet with slight oakiness near the end.
Final Thought: At £139 per bottle, it’s worth every single penny! Every time I pour a dram of this, the aroma fills the air as if I light up a candle. And the rich flavor doesn’t diminish over time. I’ve been drinking this whisky so often, to the point that my fiancé asked if I would ever drink something else 😂 Thank god I have a second bottle as a backup!
Girl with Cask Strength Score: 95/100.
