Nose: Imagine the sweet aroma wafting from a patisserie. Crème brûlée, custard, lemon cake, banana, cereal, and vanilla. So inviting!

Palate: Notes of honey and orange chocolate arrive first, followed by subtle herbal touches of rosemary and peppermint. Much of the sweetness and pastry character from the nose carries through beautifully onto the palate.

Finish: The finish is long and gently bitter, like a bite of orange peel. A soft ginger-tea spice emerges toward the end.

Verdict: An absolutely delightful Lowland whisky! Elegant yet far from simple. Compared with staples such as Arran 10 and Glencadam 10, this one offers a more layered nose and palate. Bladnoch should have kept this release as part of its core range! To quote Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman: “Big mistake. Huge!”
